Remove the cover on the clutch fluid resivior, making sure it is full of fluid. Open the bleeder valve and wait for the fluid to start dripping from the valve, then tighten the valve. This will get you going until you find someone to help you bleed it properly. Put the cover back on, after re-filling the fluid that just filled the new slave cylinder. If you have a helper, have them sit in the car and press the pedal all the way down to the floor 4 to 5 times. After the last pump, have them hold the pedal all the way down to the floor. Tighten the bleeder valve, and repeat the process a few times until the clutch has good pedal.

What connects slave cylinder to clutch pedal on 1987 ford ranger?

The clutch pedal assembly has a clutch rod that pushes in on a clutch master cylinder. There is a hydro line that goes from the master cylinder to the slave cylinder.

What does the master and slave cylinder do for the clutch?

The master clutch cylinder is attached to the clutch pedal. When one depresses the pedal hydraulic fluid is forced from the master cylinder through the hard line to the slave cylinder. The piston in the slave cylinder is driven against the clutch linkage thereby releasing the clutch.

Could it be the slave cylinder the reason why you have no clutch pedal?

Yes. If either cylinder or the line fails, you lose the clutch pedal. Slave cylinder is a good place to start.

How do you know if it is the clutch master cylinder or the slave cylinder that has gone bad on an 94 firebird?

clamp the line to the slave cylinder and mash the clutch pedal. if the pedal gets hard to push, the slave is bad. if the clutch pedal goes down slowly with moderate pressure, the master cyl is bad clamp the line going to the slave cylinder. meant to say that in the previous answer

Does a 97 mustang gt have a slave cylinder?

Virtually all automobiles have a brake cylinder at each wheel (a "slave cylinder"). ========================================================== A 1997 Ford Mustang has a cable operated clutch so there is no clutch slave cylinder . To adjust the clutch - Without the engine running , put your transmission in 1st gear - put your foot under the clutch pedal and GENTLY pull the clutch pedal up until it stops - SLOWLY push the clutch pedal all the way down . If the clutch needed adjusting you will hear a click

Why doesnt a manual transmission go into neutral when the clutch pedal is fully pressed?

Probably do to a bad pressure plate and or clutch plate. I would first check linkage adjustment and slave cylinder before changing clutch.

Why does my Zx2 Clutch pedal stick?

How do you know if the clutch cylinder on a 97 suzuki sidekick is bad and it is not the clutch?

After you have located the clutch slave cylinder, have someone depress the clutch pedal. You should see the piston of the slave cylinder extend somewhat. If it does not, either the slave cylinder is bad, or the master cylinder, or, there is not enough brake fluid in the system for it to operate properly. Check the level in the master cylinder. If the slave cylinder is leaking profusely, it is probably bad.

Why won't my clutch pedal come back up after pressing it down?

The slave cylinder is a hydraulic device that acutuates the clutch. As you depress the clutch pedal it's movement sends hydraulic pressure to the clutch to release it. It's like stepping on the brakes only withe clutch.
