How do you install fuel pump on 1986 Pontiac boneville?
To The Owner of the 1986 Pontiac 6000: I am the owner of two 1985 6000 STE's and my fuel filter is an inline filter on the right side of the car. It is about the size of a soda can. First, shut of power so when you remove the fuel filter, very little fuel will come spurting out. Next, after removing the old filter, plug in a new filter, then restore power. Most Sincerely…
What does a po300 trouble code on a 1999 Pontiac mean have already changed out spark plugs and wires?
Fuel pump is inside gas tank. (Disconnect battery) Drain tank, remove straps, lower tank , disconnect lines ,remove tank from car. Remove retaining ring from top of tank. Remove fuel pump/sending unit. Replace with new ,reverse steps to install. (Also replace fuel filter so pump warranty is not voided.) if you have the 2.4 Litre twin Cam you will have to remove the rivets holding the heat shield around the exhaust.
The fuel pump eccentric? It is located on the front of the camshaft, and is retained by the cam bolt, and a large washer. To install a new one, you must drain the coolant, remove the alternator, power steering, balancer, fuel pump, timing cover, and cam bolt. Reverse the removal to reinstall, clean all mating surfaces, and use new gaskets and coolant.
