Gas Tank
The gas tank has to come down as the pump is in the tank.
To install a fuel pressure regulator on a Pontiac Fiero, first ensure the engine is cool and disconnect the negative battery terminal. Next, relieve the fuel system pressure by removing the fuel pump relay and starting the engine until it stalls. Remove the old regulator by disconnecting the fuel lines and unscrewing it from the intake manifold or fuel rail. Finally, install the new regulator, reconnect the fuel lines, and reattach the battery terminal, ensuring there are no leaks before starting the engine.

on my 1986 Grand Am LE it is behind the fuel tank hanging on a clip and should have one hose/tube coming from one end and another hose/tube coming from the other end.
To The Owner of the 1986 Pontiac 6000: I am the owner of two 1985 6000 STE's and my fuel filter is an inline filter on the right side of the car. It is about the size of a soda can. First, shut of power so when you remove the fuel filter, very little fuel will come spurting out. Next, after removing the old filter, plug in a new filter, then restore power. Most Sincerely, Kristopher Gerbracht www.kristopher.gerbracht@juno.com
If the fuel injectors on your 1986 Pontiac Fiero are not squirting gas, first check the fuel pump to ensure it’s functioning properly and delivering fuel to the injectors. Next, inspect the fuel pressure regulator and the fuel filter for blockages or failures. Additionally, verify that the electrical connections and grounds to the injectors are secure and that the engine control module (ECM) is sending the correct signals. If everything checks out, consider testing or replacing the injectors themselves.
On a 1986 Pontiac Parisienne with a V6 engine, the fuel pump relay is typically located in the fuse box under the dashboard on the driver's side. The fuse for the fuel pump can also be found in this fuse box, often labeled for easy identification. If you're unable to find it there, consult the vehicle's service manual for specific diagrams and locations.
To convert a carbureted 1986 Honda CRX to fuel injection, you will need to gather a fuel injection system, which includes components like an intake manifold, fuel injectors, an ECU, a fuel pump, and necessary wiring harnesses. Remove the carburetor and install the fuel injection manifold, ensuring proper sealing and fitment. Next, install the fuel pump and lines to supply fuel to the injectors, and wire the ECU to control the system. Finally, calibrate the ECU for optimal performance with the new fuel injection setup.
