Next to impossible. A new release lever will need to be installed. Take it to the Toyota dealer ... they built it, they know how to repair it.
First you have to remove the black covering on the top of the inside part of the trunk. There are "clips that you pull out on the front part of the trunk material. Then pull the sensor down. It will unclip. Then you have to turn the bulb holder to release it. Replace the bulb and put everything back.
There is a child safety device in the area of the door where the latch is located. It can be turned to keep kids from opening the doors from the inside.

Opening the hood on a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am is very easy to do. The hood is opened by pulling on the hood release latch inside the car on the drivers side. After the latch is pulled the hood will release. The hood is then opened by pulling the second release under the hood.
