hmmmm....can you open it from inside? My rear door latch gets stuck in the open position at least once a month on my '01 CRV. I've found that the hinge and spring get rusted up on the latch. I spray a rust inhibiter/lubricant (PB Blaster) on either side of the latch and then work it until it moves freely. This is a poor design for something that is exposed to the weather.
To fix a trunk latch that is stuck open, the teeth on the lock may have to be adjusted so the trunk will close. It is also possible that the cable for the trunk latch is broken. To fix the gas cap door latch may require a little bending and adjusting with a pair of pliers.
If the door latch on a 1999 Chevrolet Blazer is broken on the car frame, a new latch might have to be welded in. The old door latch will have to be cut out with a torch. If the latch is broken on the door, a new door might be cheaper than welding in a new latch.
Assuming your button doesn't work...the latch is in the trunk on the upper left side. If the end tab has broken off, wire will be behind felt covering
It's mounted on the Trunk Lid Latch.....
When the fuel door is jammed on a 1999 VW Jetta the latch need to be reached from inside the trunk compartment. Removing the panel inside the trunk and reaching the latch from behind will open the fuel door.
I bought a new part for my 1995 Honda accord EX four trunk door but it still won't latch. Can you help?
To fix the 300m latch, you will need to remove the inner door panel. After the door panel has been removed, then you can check the door latch components to determine what has broken and how to best repair it.
Did you check the door latch/lock. The latch part might be broken on the inside. If you have the door already open it is easy to chisel out the old door latch inside of the door.
your trunk latch may be stuck in the open position. The latch pushes to the left to open, try pushing it to the right and see if it pops into place.
try the door.
The loop latch on the top of my 2003 Sonoma cargo door has recently broken off and I had to replace it. The plastic handle latch that you use to open the cargo door has broken once, too.
It is very easy to repair a broken glove box latch. Once you've acquired the part, you will need to take the inner and outer panels of the door apart. The latch is attached to the outer panel of the door. It can be removed with a couple of screws.
