Parts needed:
-Complete k20/k24 motor changeover
-intermediate shaft
-O2sensor for the same type of motor
-subframe from a rsx or 02+si (ep3)
-Hasport Mount Kit.. (other companies make em to) (make sure you get engine specific mount)
-Hasport Wire Harness Conversion (I wont be using this, i will attempt to wire it myself)
(please note that if you do a k20 swap into the car you will need the k20 mount kit. If later on down the road you want to upgrade to the k24 you will need to order the passenger mount only which lowers the engine more since the k24 is actually taller than the k20. HOWEVER, you can already order the k24 mount kit ahead of time and still use the same mount for the k20)
-Parts needed from an RSX:
-shifter cables
-headers and downpipe
-throttle cable (you can use a 92-95 single cam civic cable, much cheaper and easier to find)
-clutch lines from master to slave cylinder
-high pressure Power Steering hose
-power steering return line
Parts needed from an 02+ civic si:
-ac line from compressor to condenser (if you want ac)
-axles (base RSX axles will work to. NON type S)
-radiator and fans (RSX will fit but need trimming, not very much i might add)
-upper and lower radiator hoses
Other stuff you will need:
-custom ac line from compressor to condensor (again if you want ac)
-92-95 power steering reservoir with bracket (they do sell aftermarket ones which work just as good, especially if you want looks too)
start with the above parts. then checkout a company called Hasport. They have a full write up on their website.
any thing is possible from a reconditioned 1.5l to a k20 type R unit
everything from a d16z to a k20. depends on how much money you want to spend
In my opinion it would be the b16a out of the civic si or the k20 out of an rsx-s
A K20 engine is a very high power Honda motor. You can most likely buy one off of sites that specialize in selling high power car parts or could possibly contact your local Honda dealership.
Honda has many different 2.0 vtec engines. typically for a civic it is anywhere from 165hp to 200hp. the newest 2008/2009 civic si that has the k20 motor, produces 200 at the crank and 185 to the wheels. The most powerful 2.0 is found in Honda's S2000 which is 220 hp. These are all 4 cyl. motors also.
Yes it will but unlike other B series swaps it's not a straight swap. All the swap details can be found on k20a.org
you can fit the D16sohc vtec (1.6el) B16a (civic SIR/Si in US) B16b (civic type R) B18b(ls integra) B18B (gsr integra) B18c5 (typeR integra) H22a (prelude) B20b (honda crv) K20 ( rsx type s) K24 (tsx) J35 (honda oddesy) J32 (acura tl/cl type s)
im pretty sure its the k20z3 motor in the new civic si's (09 civic si.) that's stock now i don't know modded it all depends. I'd rather have the k20 type s out of the 05 rsx type s(that's just my opinion). but money wise. you can buy and build a nice GSR(b18c1) for the price of a STOCK k20. Unless money is no option, and you can afford it.
5.5 to6.5 if the car is properly serviced and the car has been well maintained. It has been proven that the K20 block which is present in a honda civic type R loses drastic torque if the car is in poor condition/poor maintanence hitting around 7.8-8 seconds.
Yes, that was an optional engine.
It all depends on what kind of driving you want to do; be it auto-x, road racing, or drag racing. My opinion would be (if you can afford it) a K20 transplant. The reason i say this is because this would be a good all around motor. (Especially in a Civic Hatch :P)
An H22 or K20.
