First is you have to releive the tension and take off the belt. What ever side the tension is on from the belt that's the way it will need to go to give the belt slack to be removed. When you go to release the Tensionor back it will go further then it was before so what ever your using to unspring it (long wrench, Ratchet and socket, or tensionor tool) may get wedged.
If you are replacing the whole tensionor then you need to remove the bolt through the center of the tensionor pulley. On the back side of the tensionor is a little tip (about the size of a new eraser on the end of a pencil) that sets in a spot on the surface it bolts too. You'll need to put the new tensionor back in that spot. Thighten the bolt down snug.
If you just need the pulley itself off the tensionor then just take the bolt out that is through it. Put new one on and tighten up snug. Make sure it spins fairly free when your down. If you overtighten (create excessive drag) it it will wear out the new pulley fast and possiblly lock up when the bearing inside fails and cause your belt to break cause it doesn't spin anymore.
put it on the tension srewand push back towards muffler
Pry up on the tensioner pulley.
The tension pulley has a 3/8" square hole in it. Using a 3/8 drive ratchet or breaker bar, simply put it in and pull the tension pulley.
u need to relaese tension on the tension pulley. this is usually done with a long socket wrench handle. when u release tension and remove belt you then release tension on pulley until you have routed new belt . you then move tension pulley again until you can put belt on it, then release pulley and it will automatically provide correct tension
15 mm wrench Put it on the tension pulley and pull to take tension off belt
You need to line up you belt with the pulley except for the tensioner pulley according to the picture in your engine bay. You will need to put a wrench on your tensioner pulley and twist it to relieve the tension then slip the belt on and let off the wrench to return the tension.
put your pp in the pistons
You don't. The pulley is pretensioned by the manufacturer. If the belt tension is incorrect, the pulley must be replaced.
Try leaving the belt on for tension on the pulley. Also you can very carefully use a pry bar to put extra tension on pulley while belt is on.
If you are referring to the Serpentine belt, you loosen no pulley. You simply remove tension from the belt. The tension is applied by the Idler Pulley. Pry the idler back and remove the belt.If you are referring to the Serpentine belt, you loosen no pulley. You simply remove tension from the belt. The tension is applied by the Idler Pulley. The tension pulley should have a bolt that holds it on, allowing you to replace the unit.
I have a 1054 and just put a new drive belt on it. It has a spring loaded belt tension pulley and there is no adjustment. Check and see if the spring has broken or come off the pulley.
