Best Answer

Use Silicone or some type of epoxy rated for metal, plastic, glass, etc.

I would use an epoxy before i would silicone because it most likely wont last more than a couple years.

How do you fix off track power window for 2001 oldsmobil intrigue?

If the glass has detached from the clips/feet/whatever-you-call-them that hold the window glass to the rest of the assembly, you can re-glue it. You will have to clean off as much of the old glue as possible, then use a glue made specifically windows and situations like this - I think it is urethane based, and should be available at auto parts stores. Do this with the window up, and make sure you have everything in exactly the right place, operating the window to make sure. Once it is in place, leave the window up for at least a day or two to be sure the glue sets properly. A window being "off track" is often a case of the glue that bonds to the the glass simply wearing out over time and with use.

Why does My window will not go up in a 1996 Land Rover discovery.?

99% of car windows are on a track and are simply glued to it. there is a motor that lets it go up and down. if you had ice frozen to the window for instance when you tryed to let it down the motor was pulling at the track and the glue separated there was probably a loud pop. once the window was free to go down it is no longer sitting in the track when you try to roll it up the track is actually trying to go beside the glass back to its orignal position. you will probably notice that if you let the window down with the button and then pull the glass up to where it should be to be closed that you should temporarily be able to push the button up and the track will hold the glass back in place until you can take it to have the interior panel removed to be able to re-secure the glass to the track.

You don't - The window attaches to the track with a high temperature compound that has to be done at the dealer.

How do i put driver side window back on track on a 91 acura legend?

Well, after removing the door panel and disconnecting all of the necessary parts(please be careful in doing this, some of the parts will break quite easily), look toward the inside front of the door (near the hinged area) - there's a track located there that extends all the way up to the top of the door and this is probably the reason your window keeps coming off track( this was the case with mine) - There's a bolt that holds the track in place. Loosen it a little to get the window back into the track. Put the window back into the track but make sure that the rubber guide on the upper and lower part of the door remains around the windows edge, re-tighten the bolt and then reconnect the window controls to test it. It should flow up and down as if new. .

How do you re-glue rear view mirror on an Oldsmobile aurora?

get a mirror kit from auto parts storeor you can simply get adhesive especially for auto windows...you have to remove the mounting plate from the mirror stem and glue that back to the window. Once that has dried, you can put the mirror back on the mounting plate. If the mirror has electrical wires, you will need to detach and re-attach as needed.ANS2 - the best adhesive is the 'Loctite' Auto Mirror Adhesive, available in many auto parts stores.
