The brake switch for a Nissan Quest should be under the dash on the brake pedal arm. If the switch goes bad then the brake lights could stay on or not work at all.
The brake light switch on a Nissan is located just behind the brake pedal. It sends a signal to the brake lights when the pedal is pressed to turn them on.
Lift the car on a car jack, remove the tire and set aside, remove the brake shoe/caliper carefully and remove the old brake pad. Next put in the new brake pads, replace the brake shoe/caliper, put the tire back on the car and lower the car to the ground.
More than likely the brake light switch is defective or out of adjustment.
The brake light switch is located above the brake pedal on a 1993 Nissan Sentra. To reach the switch the driver's door needs to be opened.
The 1998 Nissan brake light switch is located below the dashboard, on the drivers side of the engine compartment. The brake light switch simply plugs in and out.
There is no switch to activate or deactivate the brake lights on a 1988 Nissan. The brake lights automatically turn on any time the brakes are pressed.
on the brake pedal
on your brake pedal lever.
On my '86 (and all the other cars I've worked on) it's been attached to the bracket that holds the brake pedal. Usually it screws in (so you can adjust it) and it has a stop nut (so you can keep it from vibrating out of adjustment). Bob
