i took a bolt or screw that was close to the same size as the tube and screwed it in a bit , got it as tight as i possibly could , then i pulled out the tube, it took a couple of trys but it finally came out. beware it is longer then you think, i believe it was close to three inches fro mthe block down inside it. and its a pain tryingto find a replacment one , unless you hit a junkyard.
You may be able to bend a tight hook into the end of a piece of coathanger wire. Send it down through the tube, then pull it up to hook the end of the tube and pull the tube out enough to get a grip on it.
behind the block in a 4 cyl. the dipstick is white and says engine on it
pull the oilpan and punch it out.ANS 2 - The previous solution can be done, but it's much easier to just grip the dip TUBE with large pliers and pull it out of the block, along with the broken dipstick. These tubes are almost always just a tight fit in the block, not welded or fixed in.
The dipstick if you are looking at the engine is on the left side of the valve cover approximately halfway form the front and back. It is located where the cover meets the engine block. The yellow plastic grab loop may be broken off, making it hard to identify the dipstick. That was exactly where it was on my 1997 Sidekick and it also had been broken off making it difficult to find. It looked like it was a place to connect for a thermostat or something but no it was the dipstick.
open hood look at engine oil dipstick stater is below the base of the dipstick tube at engine block
The oil dipstick on a 1997 BMW 528i is located on the left side of the engine. It has a tube which connects to the engine block and directs the dipstick into the bottom of the oil pan.
It's either on the drivers side on the engine block or the passenger side on the block depending on the engine in your vehicle.
Not sure if the dipstick is broken off the loop where you pull on it. Check where the dipsick tube is secured, you may want to remove the tube also, spray lots of lube where the tube goes into block, and be very patient, and turn the tube back and forth at first, and then pull it out.........

passenger side of car in the back of the engine behind valve cover there is a dipstick, pull the dipstick out and pour into the dipstick tube.
The transmission fluid dipstick on a 1989 Mitsubishi Galant is next to the engine block. It is on the driver's side, near the rear of the engine.
No. They are two very different components. The oil is mounted to the bottom of the engine block.
Bottom left side of your engine face (looking from directly above engine bay) your dipstick(metal ring with metal stick attached) is located between some thin tubes and the engine block. pull on ring which will bring out rest of the dipstick. wipe off end of stick with towel. replace dipstick, remove and check levels on stick.
