If your Civic is carburated, is doesn't have a pcv valve. All you can do is replace the filter on the side of the air cleaner assembly.....For fuel injection, check your intake (PGM-FI). Theres 3 hoses coming out towards the front of the car, the biggest hose (middle) goes to the pcv valve. Just pull the valve out and disconnect from the hose and replace it.....
Pull upward on the hose that the PCV valve is in. The PCV valve will pull out of the hose. The PCV valve is located in the valve cover.
Pcv valve job on 95 civic
The pcv valve on the 98 civic ex 4dr may possibly be in the same location as the 2 door. It should be directly above the oil filter which you have to remove first. Once you remove the oil filter then you should be able to see the pcv valve with a bright spotlight. To remove it, is another story in itself.
The cost to replace a Honda PCV valve runs between $5 and $20. This depends on the car year make, the store and the part brand.

Mine is Civic DX 97. Believe it's the same. Get under your car, take off your oil filter, your PCV valve is right above your oild filter. It's recommended to replace it from there. Good luck!
The PCV valve on a 1995 Buick Park Avenue is located on the top of the valve cover. Twist the valve and pull to remove and replace it.
The PCV valve for a 1998 Monte Carlo should plug into the valve cover. Twist and pull it to remove and replace it.
I have never worked on a 1998 Civic but I have worked on a lot of Hondas. I have worked on 88,90,91,92,93 and a 95 Civics. the pcv are right under intakes.
