Remove the caliper and inspect it for any damage. The only way any part should touch the rotor other than the brake pad is if the pad is worn to the point that the backer plate hits, or the caliper is bad.

How do you replace rotors on a 1999 ford 150 4x4?

Raise the vehicle, remove the wheel, remove the two caliper slide pins and lift the caliper out of the way and support it. Remove the disn brake pads and anti-rattle clips, Remove the two anchor plate retaining bolts and remove the anchor plate, on the 4x4 models remove the rotor from the hub assembly by pulling it off the studs. You might have to use a dead-blow and penetrating oil to get these off. If it doesnt come of this way then you will have to use a jaw puller. I usually able just to spray pen. oil on them let then set then use a dead blow on them. Just don't damage the studs. The rotors can really be stuck on there sometimes. When replacing put some antiseize on the backs to keep this from happening again. That's it. Good luck. Install in reverse.
