Search for YouTube video "1950 Chevrolet Door Handle Clip Removal" Insert handle removal tool from same side as handle, rotate about 30 degrees left or right and you will feel the point of the tool drop in behind the snap-ring. Continue rotating tool in the same direction to remove clip. Tool is available from any antique Chevy online supplier, NCCA, Cheviesofthe40's, FillingStation, etc.

If your 1949 truck is a CHEVY or GMC and it still has the original electrical system, it would be 6 volt, negative ground. If it is a Dodge or a Ford with the oringinal electrical system it would be 6 volt, positive ground.

It' easy if you change all the running gear. Any sbc or bbc will fit. Chevy auto or standard trans will work and a variety of Gm rears 10-12' works great! Good luck. Diesel Doc.
