The first thing u gotta do is remove the door panels, the door is held on by some screws( cant remember the number) and a bunch of hooks. The hooks all point down, so after u unscrew it, you gotta push up to get it off, that's all I know really, after that the speaker is down there, easy access once the panel's off.
Should be same as 2001 setup where you have to remove interior door skin to acess speakers, and the 2001 had 4"x6" ovals in doors.

remove the screws usually behind the door handle, also remove the cover tabs on the door grab on the panel and then remove the speaker grill and remove the three or four screws around the speaker not the ones holding the speaker in place.
You do not need to remove the door panel to change your speakers. Remove the speaker cover, by prying outward on the speaker cover retaining clips. Remove the speaker retaining screws. Remove the wiring harness from the back of the speaker.
Remove the door speaker cover. The cover is held in place with two retaining screws. Remove the speaker retaining screws. Remove the wiring harness from the back of the speaker. Reverse the process to install the new speaker.
Open The Door, Remove The Door Panel, Remove Speaker, Wire The New Speaker, Fix The Speaker To The Door, Refix Door Panel, Switch On
1.Remove the front door trim panel.Remove the speaker retaining bolts.Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the speaker from vehicle. Installation is the reverse.
You remove the door panel and the speakers are held in by two tabs. you just push in the two tabs and the speaker pulls out. The speaker itself is screwed into a housing with 4 torx screws. the separate tweeter just pulls off the door.
Remove the speaker covers from your 1997 Mercury. Remove the door speaker retaining screws. Remove the door speaker wiring harness. Reverse the process to install your new door speakers.
remove door handle bezel look under the part were you pull to close door and there is a cover over 2 screws there and also remove the red door deflector the is a screw behind there pull out on the bottom of the door
It depends on the year of the Alero. But for most General Motors vehicles the speaker size is 4 inch by 6 inch for the front door speakers and 6 inch by 9 inches for the rear.
