Based upon your states laws, most show the ownership of a vehicle through the title. If the title is in your name and does not state and joint ownership with another name then you have rights to take possesion of the car.
Can I find out if there is a bank note on the title before I purchase the vehicle?
The first thing you need to do is call your local police department and give them the vin and ask them if the vehicle is stolen. You dont want to get caught trying to get a title for a stolen vehicle. Why would someone just give a car away when they can take it to a salvage yard and get a couple hundred bucks for it.
dont use a vehicle dont use a vehicle

You cant sell the vehicle without titling it in your name first unless you are selling it to a salvage yard or for scrap metal. The person buying it wont be able to get a title for it if you dont title it first.
Other than Paying off the loan, you DONT. Charge-off is an accounting term to explain why the lender didnt make any profit on the loan. As long as the vehicle is collateral for a loan, you dont get clear title.
No if you consign you should be listed as the additional insured but you dont need to be on the policy provided of course that you are not driving the vehicle and are not a resident of the household where the vehicle is kept.
I dont know noobs
if you can find an officer who agrees that repo title does indeed suffice. but many officers feel it is a civil matter. but, yet....if you have in hand a title with your name on it, as owner and seller of vehicle....its yours. good luck in finding officers who agree. some do, some dont
