I have the same problem can't seem to pull in the retaining ring far enough to remove hub and rotor don't know if I'm doing it right. Will update if I get it off.
Remove front wheel, remove caliper from hub, remove small counter sunk screws from rotor then knock off. rebuild in reverse. Hope this helps

You have to remove the caliper and then the rotor and tap on the front of the stud with a hammer so that it slides out from the back.
You didn't specify brake rotor or ignition rotor. If it's the brake rotor, remove the front wheel, remove the brake caliper, remove the bearing dust cap, remove the cotter pin, and then remove the castle nut, this will free up the rotor to be removed from the spindle. While it's off you may as well replace the wheel bearings. If its the ignotion rotor you simply remove the distributor cap, and then two screws hold the rotor on.
With the front end jacked up and on supports, remove the wheel, remove the calipers, then just pull off the rotor and replace. It is good to replace the disc pads also.
To replace brake pads and rotor: Unbolt wheel, unbolt caliper, remove caliper, unbolt caliper bracket, remove rotor, replace rotor, bolt up bracket, compress caliper, replace pads, replace caliper, bolt up caliper, bolt up wheel, repeat whole thing on other side...
