The wheel hub/ bearings is 1 set... first you need to remove brake caliper and rotor then break the bolt for the C/V Joint, then remove the 4 bolts that keeps the hub on. And install everything the same way as they was removed and your done.
The front wheel bearing is a sealed unit with the wheel hub - replace the hub and wheel bearing unit. Remove the four bolts from the rear of the steering knuckle that connect to the hub bearing unit.
they are replaced as hub assemblies, remove the wheel, remove the caliper and rotor three bolts for the hub, axle nut, abs harness if the car has it, and remove the hub assy
They need to be pressed in. You will have to remove the hub assembly and have a shop press the bearings into the hub.
The rotors are attached to the hub assembly. Remove the hub, then remove the six bolts securing the rotor to the hub. Pay special attention the the seals on the hubs as they will probably need to be replaced. Clean and repack wheel bearings before reassembling. 1. Remove dust cap from hub assembly 2. Remove cotter pin, nut cover, large nut and washer 3. You should now be able to pull hub assembly off, including wheel bearings 4. Remove the six bolts securing the rotor to hub
some have a grease sert on the hub, other wise remove the hub cover, and nut that holds bearings in place, and hand repack,
i am pretty sure the front bearings are part of the entire hub assembly. replacing the bearings requires replacing the enitre front hub. at least that's how it was on my 97 dualie.
Take the tire off. Remove the dust cap from the center of the hub. take pliers and turn it (it isn't threaded). if you have a cover under that, remove it. if not.....don't. remove the cotter pin. (DO NOT reuse this. you will need to buy a new one) remove the nut. remove the toothed washer. PULL you will have to change the bearings after removing the hub. it is almost impossible to remove the hub without damaging the bearings.
When you remove the front wheels on a vehicle, there is usually a cap on the center of the 'hub'- the part you removed the wheel from by loosening and removing the wheel nuts. If you remove that cap with a flat screwdriver or other small pry bar, you will see the hub bearings inside. They are usually roller bearings that have grease all over them. You should read a repair manual if you are going to remove them and/or replace them.
The front bearings are pressed into the hub. Take the axles out of the hub and remove the steering knuckle/hub assembly. Take them to a machine shop and have the bearings pressed out and back in again. The rear bearings you just take off the grease cap. Unstake the keeper washer and take the nut off. Then you can pull the outer bearings out. then replace the nut on the spindle and pull out again which will take the inner bearing out along with the seal.
a hub is what the wheel bolts to on the car.the hub bearings are the bearings that allow the hub to turn on the axle. most times they are called axle bearings,
You have to replace the entire hub assembly, the wheel bearings are inside of it. Jack up car, remove tire, remove brake caliper and rotor, remove hub nut on cv axle, remove bottom ball joint nut(use pickle fork tool to remove ball joint from hub), tap cv shaft loose of hub, unbolt strut from hub, unplug abs wire, and replace hub assembly. Reverse steps to reassemble.
Jack it up, remove the wheel, pry off the center cap, remove the cotter pin and nut, then pull the bearings out with the hub. Note that some trailer bearings are sealed and replaced as an entire unit.
