On the driver side kick panel. Remove dash panel next to fuse box.
Using a screw driver, remove the screws and remove the clips from the door panel. Remove the panel slowly, remove any wire connections, and pull the panel off the door frame.
Remove all screws and very very carefully slide the screw driver behind the panel and pull out.

There is a small access panel underneath that you must remove first in order to access the torque converter bolts. The panel is very small so a socket and wrench should be used. Bolts should be 17MM. Good luck!
I just removed the driver side door panel on a 2001 Mustang. Remove the panel holding the auto widow switches. There are 2 screws under there. Remove the 2 screrws and lift the whole panel up. There was a p[lastic push-in screw on the front of the panel that caused some problem. This was pushed out and the panel came right off. The switch panel will fit throught the hole. That's it.
