Remove the wiring harness from the back of the headlight. Remove the headlight assembly bolts. The headlight assembly will come out.
The headlight is an assembly. To replace the headlight, you remove the bulb from the back side. It is a halogen bulb, so do not touch with bare hards before installing.
Buy a bulb from the Honda dealer or auto parts store (so you get the right one). You will need to remove the instrument cluster trim panel, and then remove the instrument cluster itself. Change out the bulb. Detailed instructions can be found at Alldata and on the internet.
To replace the headlight assembly on a 2006 Jetta, remove the front grill. Then remove the headlight assembly by taking off the screws that secure it in place. Replace with new.Ê

Inside the instrument cluster. To replace them remove the cluster and take it apart.
Pop out the bezel around the radio and note the 5/16 bolts (4 of 'em ) holding the main cluster bezel down. Remove the Fuse Access door on the driver side with the door open and remove the 5/16 screw just inside the access area. Remove them and GENTLY pull up on the assembly until it begins to pop out. The entire assembly should lift out from around the instrument cluster. Remove the 4 screws on the cluster (same size as the others) and lift the cluster. Lay the cluster down upside down and CAREFULLY unplug the cluster. One Blue, One Black connector. VIOLA! it's out. Replace in the reverse order.
