UNDERNEATH THE UPPER CONTROL ARM ON YOUR BIRD YOU WILL FIND THREE NUTS. REMOVE THESE AND THE SHOCK WILL BE ABLE TO BE REMOVED THROUGH THE TOP OF THE SHOCK TOWER. ONCE THE SHOCK IS OUT, YOU CAN REMOVE THE LOWER SHOCK BOLT FROM THE BRACKET.

AnswerFirst you have to relieve the spring pressure off the strut. Ounce the spring pressure is off remove th lower balljoint off the knuckle this is connected to the lower control arm.The strut goes through the control arm remove the nut on the end (21 mm) then go to the front of the car to the other end of the strut this is bigger nut loosen that one.Push the control arm towards the back of the car this will free the control arm from the strut.then pull the strut out of the front grommet.
You have to have a puller that fits on the groove just behind the front edge of the pulley.

Compress the shock spring using a spring compressor. Remove the bolt on top of the shock plate. Remove the bolt on the bottom of the shock. Reverse the process to install the new front shock.
Use a strut spring compressor to compress the old spring, the remove the strut from the spring. Use the compressor to put the strut into the new spring. Install the strut and spring into the vehicle.
Remove the inside door panel. Remove the door handle linkage. Remove the door handle retaining bolts. The front door handle will come off.

there is a clip on the front of the shifter. pull this out and the outer part of the shifter will come off. next remove the center console. then you can get to the 4 bolts that hold the shifter in place.
There will be a pin on the front bottom of the cylinder housing. Turn the key to the on position then push the pin in and pull the cylinder out.
Remove driver side front tire. remove inner fender liner. Battery is inside the front fender wheel.
