First you have to drop the tank, so that your hand will fit. Then use the "special tool" (it's plastic). You can find these at most auto parts stores.
if its a full size fuel injected bronco 87 or later the pressure should be between 35 and 42 psi
How do i remove the fuel lines from gas tank for 96 bronco? I recently changed the fuel pump on my 93 bronco. This consists of removing the gas tank. The tank on the bronco is protected by a full skid plate that also holds the tank unlike those with metal straps. First, remove the pos. terminal on battery. Jack the rear of bronco up and secure with jack stands. Using a floor jack and a 2x6, hold the tank in place while removing the 8, 15mm bolts( you will also need a 13mm combo wrench for backup on topside). Remove the hose on filler neck @ hose clamp, then remove fuel feed line and return line @ top of tank. The info I was given for completing this step turned out to be incorrect. I was told to remove the metal retainer clip located @ connection of fuel line w/ a flat screwdriver then pull off line. Well that was incorrect. You do remove retainer clips, but then you'll need a fuel line removal tool to depress the retainer inside fuel line.( this can be purchased for around $7, or you can rent a kit for around $15 @ autozone). With tool in place slowly pull off fuel line. Remove all other connected lines on pump housing and slowly lower tank with floor jack. Then follow instructions received with the particular pump you purchased.
On a full sized Bronco, it is located in front of the fuel pump between the frame rails near the drivers feet.
Could be a fuse, could be the fuel pump relay.
Depends on the year of the Bronco, size of the fuel tank, and the mileage it gets.
one for every cylinder.
I have a 1988 Full Size bronco. The fuel filter for it is on the drivers sde frame rail just about directly below the gas pedal. Careful when you take it off cuz it's under pressure and you'll get sprayed with fuel
follow your fuel lines and find filter hold the fuel lines make sure to not break or crimp line and use a wrench to remove filter make sure there is no flames anywhere near cause there is gas in the filter
In the plastic housing full of relays and fuses.
Unhook fuel fill spot, remove plastic tank cover, unhook tank support brackets Remove the fuel tank and there is a a ring on top of the fuel tank. Unhook the fuel lines and wires, remove the ring. Pull the pump assembly out. Install in reverse order. Also you can just take of the pickup box off. Removing the box is faster if you fuel tank is full.
Size. The Bronco is a full sized vehicle. The Bronco II is the miniature compacted version. The full size broncos came with larger v8 engines and the Bronco II was designed during the first gas panic as a Fuel saver. While they only get 22mpg, on the highway it was almost double what the full size broncos got in mileage, except for the 4.9 I6, which could get 20mpg in the fullsize. In addition, the bronco ii was based off of the ford ranger, while the ford bronco was based off of the ford f150.
