Pull the rear fenders Chrome and plastic, unbolt right shock at bottom, pull rear wheel, pull master cylinder/caliper assy (no need to break it open just disconnect linkage at brake pedal) pull battery box & slide tank out the back. Easy. Dirty but easy. Pete
Fuse box on 1979 Goldwing is in small black box forward of the fuel tank filler cap.
yes you can but it takes some modification with the fuel pump
No
regular fuel will do. 89 octane
Should be 22 liters
First, the 1200 last year was 1987, after that it's the 1500. Just follow the fuel line if it's a 1200.
Big job. The tank has to come off from behind. Have to remove the bags and rear wheel.---Remove the seat, and top compartment, remove rear fender, shocks, and rear wheel. Disconnect all fuel lines, remove the cross plate from the frame. Disconnect sensors, and fuel gauge, battery and holder.Remove rear brake fluid reservoir from the frame,Remove the fuel filter bracket, turn valve off, remove fuel tank mount bolt. Move the tank to the rear and out. Good luck.
The first Honda Goldwing with fuel injection was the 1985 LTD model produced until 1987. When the Goldwing engine was enlarged to 1800cc in 2001 then that model and all susequent models had fuel injection.
If you really mean the fuel tank, and not the casing that looks like the gas tank, then the fuel tank has to come out from the back of the bike. Means side bags and wheel removal. Plus a few other parts.
23.00 litres or 6.08 gallons.
I hope you are ready for this...... Remove the seat and top compartment ( plastic tank cover ) remove the rear fender, rear shocks, and the wheel.Disconnect the overflow tube from the overflow tray. Remove the cross plate from the frame. Disconnect fuel gauge sensor and ground terminals from the sensor. Remove battery, and battery holder from frame. Remove the rear brake fluid reservoir from the frame. Still with me ? Remove the nut holding the fuel filter bracket to the fuel tank. Turn the fuel valve off and remove it from the tank. Remove the fuel tank mount bolt. Move the fuel tank to the rear and out of the frame. Sounds big, but once you get started it will be just a matter of time. If you have a dresser you will have to remove side bags. Good luck.
The 1200 choke system uses a fuel enrichening circuit controlled by a bystarter valve. You would have to remove the lowers and carb. cover to see where the cable is attached.
