Before you remove CV axle from tranny, be prepared to catch tranny fluid. Use a pry bar to separate it from tranny. When installing new part, place a piece of wood on end of outer CV joint before striking with hammer (with it installed in steering knuckle).

Can you remove a transmission on a 2001 Eclipse without removing the right Transaxle?

The car has only one transaxle, AKA transmission, then no, you cannot remove the tranny without removing the tranny. If you mean without removing CV Axle or drive axle or Axle shaft or CV shaft (same thing) then the answer is still no. You cannot remove the transaxle without removing the drive axle/CV shaft.

How do you replace cv joint on a Mazda mx-3?

To replace your CV joint you will have to slacken your hub nut before jacking and removing the wheel. Remove hub nut, remove both bolts on the bottom of the shocky, remove bottom ball joint bolt. You should have enough play to remove your shaft from the hub. Remove CV boot, CV joint should just pull off shaft. I made the mistake of buying and fitting a full drive shaft unnecessarily.

How do you remove the half shaft on a 1995 fotd escort wagon?

Left half shaft removal and right halfshaft removal. 1. Raise the car on stands and remove the wheel and tire. 2. Use a hammer and punch to raise the staked part of the nut. 3. Remove the nut from the driveaxle. 4. Remove the splash shield from the side you are working on. 5. Tap the end of the driveaxle with a hammer and punch to free it from the hub. 6. Remove the pinchbolt from the bottom of the lower ball joint. 7. Turn the steering wheel all the way toward the side you are removing the driveaxle from. 8. Pull the hub and knuckle out while you push the driveaxle out of the hub. 9. Swivel the end of the driveaxle forward and support it with a piece of wire so the ininer CV joint isn't damaged. 10. Support the engine with a block of wood positioned beneath the oil pan. 11. Remove the transaxle crossmember. 12. Place a drain pan under the transaxle to catch the fluid. 13. Insert a praybar between the inner CV joint and the transaxle case. Pry the driveaxle out of the transaxle. Be careful not to damage the CV joint, its boot, the transaxle case or the oil seal. 14. If both driveaxles are being removed insert a snug fitting wooden dowel into each of the differential side gears to hold them in place. A broom handle that has been cut off will work for this. a
