Behind the dash panel on the light switch that the knob goes into, look (feel) for a small release button on the bottom of the switch. Push the lights all the way in (off) and press and hold the button while pulling the knob out. the knob and the shaft both should come out as a unit. Reinstallation is easier, simply push the knob into the hole.

There is a panel in front of the front passenger's floor almost at right angles with the floor. Remove the screw holding the panel in place. Remove the panel. There is a rectangular (5 3/4" x 3 1/4") control unit held down with two nuts. This control unit has two connections. One controls the blinking lights and horn and the other the timer for the blinking lights and horn. You will need to unscrew the two nuts, pull up the control unit away from the floor, and unplug both connections.
Using a screwdriver, remove the screws and the clips from the cars door panel. Pull the panel away from the frame, remove the wiring connections, and the panel will come free.
There is a taillight fuse in the fuse panel.
you are going to have to remove the panel they are in and disconnect the wires and either put the new panel up or if you have the old one put that back up. hopefully that will help

YOU MUST REMOVE DOOR AND WINDOW HANDLES, ARM REST AND THEN YOU CAN POP THE DOOR PANEL WITH A LARGE SCREWDRIVER OR A REMOVAL TOOL FOR THE PASTIC PUSH IN RETAINERS
The fuse for the window controls on a 1986 Jaguar XJ6 is in the passenger compartment fuse box. It is in the second row down and the fourth fuse from the right in the fuse panel.
there is a panel below the steering column. there are two screws at the bottom of the panel and on each side. remove those two screws and the panel will lift from the clips on top . the fuse panel is then exposed.
remove the door and window crank handles, tehn all of the screws you can find. Then the retainers around the sides and bottom of the panel and raise up on the panel to remove it. You may need special tools to remove the handles and retainers. They can be gotten at tne parts store pretty cheaply.
To remove the steering column in a 1986 Chevy Celebrity: 1. Remove the trim panel under the steering column. 2. Remove the noise panel. 3. If the car has column shift remove the gear indicator from the shift bowl. 4. Unplug electrical connectors. 5. Remove the four bolts that hold the steering column up. 6. At this point the steering column should pull out.
