...to remove the factory radio from a 1994 Honda Civic DX Coupe (other trim levels and body styles may vary, but probably not by much). 1. Remove the four Phillips-head screws that mount the center console (the piece of plastic that houses the ashtray and cigarette lighter). Look at these images - the screw locations have been highlighted in yellow: http://www.morriss.org/civic1.jpg http://www.morriss.org/civic2.jpg 2. Pull the top of the unit down and towards the rear of the vehicle. You might have to tug on it some, don't sweat it. Once you get the center console loose, disconnect the cigarette lighter wiring harness connector, shown here: http://www.morriss.org/civic3.jpg Once you disconnect the cigarette lighter you can set this piece aside. 3. Remove the Phillips-head screw that retains the factory radio. This is on the bottom of the radio, near the rear of the unit (again in yellow): http://www.morriss.org/civic4.jpg 4. Get your hand behind the rear of the radio, and gently but firmly push the radio towards the rear of the vehicle until there's enough room to reach behind the radio. Pull the wiring harness connectors and antenna plug from the rear of the radio. 5. At this point, there should be enough radio hanging out of the dash to grab onto. Pull the radio from the dash.
