How do you remove the rear view mirror in a 1996 Chevy Lumina?

Your rear view mirror is attached to a small metal rail, that is glued to the windshield.
All you have to do is carefully grab the mirror and slide it toward the head liner, keeping it flush with the glass. It should slide off very easy.
I just removed mine so I could repair a leaky windshield.
NOTE: If the glue holding the rail comes loose, you will have to purchase a mirror repair kit from your local auto parts dealer.
