You need to remove the steering wheel, air bags, dash, everything. A good mechanic will charge close to $1,000 in labor to remove and replace the dash. The part itself is cheap.
Gently pull from inside the steering wheel column. It only has clips. They pop right off.
The bulb is out. dissconnect the battery remove upper and lower steering wheel covers remove the dash cover 4 screws. Then the dash will come off. Find the bad bulb and replace it. Good Luck
remove the steering wheel. unbolt the collar that holds the steering column underneath the dash. that plastic box halfway down the column with all of those wires hanging out of it is your ignition.
it is under the dash below the steering wheel you have to remove the steering wheel to replace it I have a manual that walks you threw this if you like I could send you the steps via email my email is braddonovan29@yahoo.com
you have to remove your steering wheel and dash completely out of the car then you can access the heatercore
Most steering wheel buttons bulbs are not serviceable, you must replace the button(switch) or the shole horn pad, most dash and switch bulbs are not serviceable
Well I would say Yes, I have 1997 ranger and I had to pull the dash out twice. Removing the steering wheel made it a lot easer. I disconnected mine from under the dash and took out four nuts holding it to the bottom of the dash frame. Make sure you disconnect the Battery and then the airbag wire under the dash.
It is an open circuit in the drivers airbag. There is a clockspring behind the steering wheel that may be worn. To replace, remove airbag, steering wheel, column covers, and lower dash cover. MAKE SURE WHEELS ARE STRAIGHT. The new clockspring comes centered with a yellow locking tab. Remove that after installing it.
there are 3 screws that must be removed for the lower dash under steering wheel. After removal dash can be pulled away. There are 2 Phillip's screws in connecting the dome. Remove them and you can carefully pry dash off.
I bet on the dash is the airbag light also??? my guess is someone spun the steering wheel some while it was disconnected from the linkage.... you will need to replace the clock spring wire in the steering wheel... its under the air bag.... you have to remove the airbag and steering wheel and that's where u will see the broken wires...just my guess mind u....oh its like $85 sigh
If it moves upward ( and not every steering wheel does) there is usually a short lever on the left side of column, near the dash. (this can be unscrewed, so it's possible that someone unscrewed it and didn't replace it )
