It is actually really easy....
1. Pull out the fan vents above the center console. they just "pry" out.
2. Unscrew the climate control center/clock/rear defrost/hazard panel. Un clip all of the wires.
3. Now go below by the transmission selector. You need to pry up plastic panel that sheaths the shifter. It will come up, but you won't be able to take it completely off (due to the width of the shifter).
4. The ash tray needs to come out.
5. There are 4 screws that need to come out, which will release the entire center console. 2 of them are behind where the climate controls were, 1 is behind the ash tray, and 1 is to the left of the ash tray behind the cigarrette lighter.
6. After removing those screws the whole console will just lift out. From there you can access the screws on the side of the radio unit.
Cheers!
Just put it back together in reverse.
* Disable the airbag system * Remove the center bezel panel from the dash and the plastic panel just below the ashtray * Remove the screws and pull the air conditioning controls/radio/Cd player assembly away from the dash * Disconnect the antenna lead and the electrical connectors then remove the screws at each side bracket to remove the radio or Cd player from the air conditioning controls/radio/Cd player assembly
Remove the 1993 Toyota decorative radio cover in. Remove the radio retaining screws. Pull the radio out. Remove the wiring harness.
* Remove the ashtray and ashtray holder * Remove the radio and mounting plate screws and lower the radio and unplug the electrical connector and antenna lead then push the radio out of the dashboard
im trying to find out the same thing
you will need to unscrew your dash and pull off the front plate of your dash, then you will need to unscrew the stock radio, then you will need to go ahead and pull out the adapter from the back of your radio.-Shocker
you will need to unscrew your dash and pull off the front plate of your dash, then you will need to unscrew the stock radio, then you will need to go ahead and pull out the adapter from the back of your radio. and that should do it-Shocker
Your Maxima will need to be rather new to get tires and rims from the dealership as they normally do not carry old stock. If it is a newer car, check out Nissan of Omaha. They have a large selection.
remove the exterior trim peace that surrounds the outer edges of the radio. Then there should be either two 10mm bolts or four phillip head screws holding the radio in place remove them and gently remove the radio from it slot and then unplug the wire harnesses and antenna in the back of the radio. repeat in reverse to reinstall.
first don't remove your stock stereo if u havn"t already. The radio works with the carscomputer to reset codes and other stuff. you can get an adapter that turns your speaker wire on the back of the radio into left and right channel to hook up to an aftermarket amplifier. then hook up your new speakers and sub woofer to the amp and use the stock radio to get your grove on. or install an after market radio in the glove box or middle console but don't remove the stock radio. get rid of the stock amp not powerful enough.
You have to remove the whole lower panel of the dash with either Alan or torch wrench.
send this question next week I will be replacing the stock stereo this weekend if weather permits
if stock one its fried. if aftermarket may be fried, wires crossed or fried speakers
