I am currently working on a 1989 323 and have had to first remove yhe passenger side wheel.Use a jack stand to hold the car up .Remove plastic covers on inside fender well as well as plastic covers under car's engine.Use a hoist on top of engine , there is usually a hook toward the front passenger side to hook to.There is a top motor mount that has to be removed.Now by lowering and raising the motor you can remove belts for Power Steering and alternater.Next remove all pulleys in front of plastic cover.You will probably have to raise and lower engine several times to get to all bolts on pulleys and plastic timing cover.
