Take the tier off ondo the center hub bolt unbolt the lower ball joint pop it out move the strut tower over then pry the cv shaft out be carful then ounce out pop the new one in and boult it back together

Go to NAPA and buy a Repair Manual.
if its a 4v it under the valve cover. if its a 2v it is on top of the half distributor at the rear of the engine under the throttle body.
I had this problem what you need to do is remove the half shaft to get this out because there is no room to get it past this point. Sorry for the bad news.
Don't bother trying to replace a torn boot on a half shaft. It is quicker, easier and cheaper to replace the whole half shaft.

Just replace the entire half-shaft driveaxle. It is really pointless to try to rebuild a CV joint when it's only $75-$100 for the whole half-shaft driveaxle. NOTE: The passenger side is very easy. The driver's side is notorious for being tough to get out of the transaxle. Good luck.
The 2006 Ford Taurus radiator drain plug is located on the bottom of the radiator. The drain plug can be removed with a half inch ratchet.
Buy a split boot from the parts store- that way you won't have to remove the shaft. As long as you have the half shaft out, why not replace it since there is probably some damage to it from having a damaged boot?

Model Year, 2WD or AWD, And if it is AWD or a 2WD(Front Left-Half shaft) is it your inner or outer? If it is you will need to replace the half-shaft as the inner cv cannot be disassembled.
