if that boot has been busted for some time, you are more than likely going to have a problem with the bearings in the drive shaft about to go out, it's best just to pull the entire wheel off, the center nut for the axle and remove the entire half shaft and replace it, cause your going to have to do that anyway to replace the boot more than likely. Most zip boots don't work that well, and they usually become more of a problem for novices to install and then you end up buying a half shaft because it went out after you put the boot on. If you drive the car and turn very sharply and hear a popping noise, the half shaft is shot, replace it. To do it yourself, get a Chilton's manual from your local library in the reference section and just zerox the pages for the procedure, or just buy one at the autoparts or bookstore for your specific year model and make of vehicle. There are two sensors 1 is by the crankshaft pully (by the drive belts) the other is between the engine and transmission it reads from the flywheel
