Take the end cap off, unscrew the screw in the handle, take off handle, put exact same new handle on, screw it down, put cap back on.

You replace the washer in the diverter so it won't let water out the faucet end when closed.

What type of faucet is it? Is it two taps, or one, Twist to turn on/off, or push/pull? It is a one handle, twist on/off type faucet.
