When ordering a new one, be careful as there are two types, a 5 pin that came on models with automatic climate control, and a 4 pin for the standard.
In either case the resistor is located under the hood, inside the airbox, right next to the dipstick and just below the heater hoses. Its held in with 2 8mm bolts. You don't have to move anything to get to it or be able to see it.
A bad resistor will make your ac fan blow only on high speed- most people think it would be the switch, but 9 times out of 10 its the resistor.
Check/ replace the blower resistor. Located in the duct work under the hood. Follow the wires from the blower motor to a plug on the duct work. This is the resistor
right adjacent to the flux compassetor.

the heater blower resistor is bad. located on firewall under heater hoses two 8mm bolts. about a twenty dollar motorcraft part. easy repair.
I have not worked on your model, however, most of the resistors are accessable once the glove box door is removed. I suggest you buy this part from your Ford dealer and then ask them to print out the picture of the resistors location for you. I hope this helps you.
