This will work for 1994 - 1998 Mustangs:
The Bulb is a 9007 type found at most stores. Remove the Christmas tree plug from the plastic cover panel from on top of the headlight housing using a panel remover tool (Shaped like a flat two prong fork). Lift up the plastic sover & use a towel to hold it up & out of your way. @ the back of the headlight, you'll see the wiring harness & a black plastic retainer ring. Turn the ring with your hand & it will unscrew. Then you can ease out the bulb, & replace the new one by pulling it off the harness. You may need to pry a small plastic clip to get the bulb off of the harness. then reverse the process & put it all back together.
Important note: NEVER upgrade to higher output bulbs that draw more power than stock, even though they will be brighter, the weakest link in the system is the headlight switch connector that will eventually melt due to increased power load. Not only does this put you at risk of fire, it will make your running lights & gauge cluster illumination go out. The Connector would then need to be replaced & it is a pain.

There is 2 large plastic screws that hold the headlight assembly`s in. Simply unscrew them and lift the headlight assemblies out then unhook take the bulbs out.
