How do you replace the heater coil on a 94 E350 Ford Van?

Hi Do you mean heater coil, or heater CORE? Im am going to try one tomorrow or the next day. By the manual it does not seem too bad, but you may need a special tool to disconnect the heater hose from the core.

The dash has to be removed to gain access to the heater box. The heater box then comes out and is split open to replace the core.

Yes , a 1995 Ford Contour should have a heater core . It is used to warm the air ( if necessary ) that comes in to the passenger compartment of the vehicle

Do you mean the heater CORE? If so it is located passenger side, firewall, inside the cabin.

The heater coil is located behind the dash board. You will have to remove the dashboard to get at the heater coil

Usually cant fix a heater coil. It is replaced as a unit and usually requires large amounts of the dash to come out. Very time consuming. That is why it usaully costs so much.

It is probably the heater coil. When it stops working water from the radiator goes back through a hose and when it overfills it emptys into the passenger side floor. You can replace the heater coil or bypass the hoses. Second option will cause heater to stop working.

Clarification of terminology- Heater core not heater coil. And Yes there is a very good chance that it may be leaking.

The heater coil and a heater core is the same thing. Hot water circulates from the engine and through the heater core then back to engine generating heat for your heater system.

take out the glove box and 4 screws that hold the cover around the heater core and take off the 2 heater hoses under the hood
