Remove the center nut (driveshaft end retaining nut), then remove the wheel.
Lift car by the jacking point so the wheel hangs.
Separate the ball joint from the spindle.
Take the lower strut mounting bolt out of the lower control arm.
Pull the rotor/spindle assembly out towards you and away and pull the outer end of the driveshaft out of the rotor hub spline.
Pry the driveshaft out of the trany.
Carefully put the new driveshaft into the trany as not to damage the seal
Reverse instructions to install.
If the lower strut bolt is seized in the control arm you will be better off to remove the outer cv from the old & new shaft and install the shaft then the outer cv. You will need a new boot clamp to do this.

For my '88 Civic, it cost me right at $180 to replace back in '97.
For the front door speakers in a 1997 Honda Civic, the left front speaker wire (+) is blue and the left front speaker wire (-) is gray/black. For the right side, the front speaker wire (+) is red/green, and the right front speaker wire (-) is brown/black.
The tension belt for a 1991 Honda Civic and located on the driver side of the engine. The pulley is right above the compressor.
