first, there should be two L shaped angle brackets under the plastic cover over where the headlights are. take out the plugs holding that cover on and youll see the brackets. pull up on the brackets and the whole headlight assembly should come out forwards. take out the lights and wires and put them into the new assembly, then put the new one in the push the brackets back down. hope it helps
on a 99 Montana had to purchase a T30 star driver then open back hatch to see screws on inside side of lens cover remove T30 screws and remove lens assembly ==Additional info== There are what appear to be two additional screws, that at first glance it appears that you need to remove the entire inside panel to get at. (This is much more obvious when you are replacing the entire tail light assembly and you will see these screws sticking out of the back of the new assembly.) These are not actually screwed in. There is some type of plastic sleeve or cap attached to the body that these screws slide into. This cap is ridged on the inside to catch on the screws thread and hold the lamp assembly in place. Once the torx (or star) screws have been removed, simply pull the tail light straight out. The two other screws will slide out of the plastic cap with a little force. When installing the new assembly (or the old one) simply slide those screws back into the plastic cap, which should still be attached to the body. You should be able to hear it click as the threads pass over the ridges inside the cap. At least this was the case with my 2000 Montana, and I would imagine it is also the case with similar models.
2nd opinion: Not an answer, but, the Chevy dealer said it couldn't be done. I hope you are right and he is wrong.

Two vehicles categories are selected so its impossible to give an extremely specific answer. That said, here is the correct answer for almost any vehicle:
Purchase the correct replacement tail light bulb(s) first, before disassembling the vehicle. See sources and related links below for replacement bulb information. Then consult your owner's manual for the tail light bulb replacement procedure. As simple as it sounds, the owner's manual is the best place to start for bulb replacement instructions and illustrations. You may want to consider replacing both left and right at the same time in order to keep brightness and color equal (optional).

The instrument cluster lights have their own fuse. It's a 5 amp at the bottom center of the fuse block. When the lights are on, the radio draws lamp power from the instrument cluster. This allows you to dim the brightness of the radio display with the other internal lamps.
if the clock is not displaying that is light bulb you can buy on eBay or at a gm dealer.

If a vehicle, like the 2004 Pontiac Montana has an XM Radio built in, the code to program the radio is found on Channel Zero. Tune the radio to XM then turn the tuner to Channel Zero.
Cant you have to replace the entire radio
The Pontiac Montana does not come with a factory installed amp in the sound system. The wiring goes directly from the radio to the speakers.

THE LIGHTS ON THE RADIO ON THE LEFT SIDE ARE NOT LUMINATED. WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO FIX THIS PROBLEM?
you will have to pull your radio out of the dash to be able to look at the model number and/or serial number of your radio. Call a local Pontiac dealer and they can give you a code to enter when you turn your radio on after changing your battery.
