Follow the top radiator hose to the engine. It should connect to what looks like a bell with bolts (every make of car seems to be a little different on looks). Some vehicles have two bolts, some vehicles have three bolts. Loosen the radiator hose clamp that holds the hose to the housing. Remove the hose and you should be able to see or reach in and feel the thermostat. Remove the bolts being careful to not drop them. The housing should lift off (may take a little bit of pressure if rtv was used to coat the gasket. Remove the old thermostat taking note the way it was inserted (you may want to set it aside in the same direction it was installed). Clean the area the gasket is/was on, do the same thing to the housing. Install new thermostat/gasket, and put back together in reverse order that you took it apart.

The 1994 Chevrolet Beretta thermostat is located on the front of the engine. You can follow the top radiator hose directly to the thermostat housing. The thermostat will be in the thermostat housing.
Follow the top radiator hose back to the engine. This is where the thermostat is. Remove the 2 bolts and there it is.
It is in the housing at the engine end of the upper rad hose. When replacing it make sure the spring on the thermostat is toward the engine.

The thermostat housing is located on the driver side between the distributor and the transmission. There are two 12mm bolts holding the the thermostat housing. You may want to disconnect the white colored sensor before removing the housing. The thermostat is located underneath the housing.
