How do you replace thermostat housing in 1999 Jaguar XK8? Can't seem to remove bolts without having to remove value covers. Help
The thermostat on a 1999 Kia Sportage is replace by removing the upper radiator hose, unbolting the thermostat housing, and removing the thermostat. A new gasket can then be put in place and a new thermostat installed.
The 1999 Cadillac thermostat can be found on the front of the engine. The thermostat will be inside of the thermostat housing. You can follow the top radiator hose directly to the thermostat housing.

It's actually easier to replace a Saturn thermostat than most other vehicles. Simply remove the thermostat housing and get a new one. The thermostat is molded into the housing. Remove the radiator hose to the housing, then remove the two nuts that hold the thermostat housing to the engine. You may need to work at breaking the housing loose since the gasket has probably seized to the engine. Simply clean off any left-over gasket, and put the new gasket and thermostat housing in place.

I don't know about the 4 Cylinder, but the 2.5L V6 1999 626 has the thermostat on the lower hose area, where it attaches to the engine/thermostat housing. To replace it, I had to take the entire air box out. It took a bit of work. You also need to take off the heat pipe mount attached to the engine in order to pull the thermostat housing apart.Not the easiest job for a thermostat replacement.

Follow the upper radiator hose to the engine. The housing that it connects to on the engine houses the thermostat. Remove the hose and the housing and it's a piece of cake from there. Don't forget to replace the gasket!
Drain all the coolant from the radiator. Disconnect the upper radiator hose from the engine. Remove the aluminum thermostat housing. Should be held in place with 2 bolts. There you will find the thermostat.
