My daughters car has an reset button in the fuse box. If your mechanic forgets to reset the light after an oil change, or the light just comes on for fun (mine always does!), you can turn the key until just the radio is on. The car should not be on. Then step on the gas pedal once, twice, and hold it down on the third time for 10-20 seconds until the light goes off. This will keep the light off until your next 3000ish miles.
Because you need to reset the light after you change the oil. Changing the oil doesn´t turn off the light automatically , you need to reset it. there is a very small push button on the dash board that has a label "RESET OIL CHANGE", with the engine off, push and keep pushing while you turn the key to power up the accesories but don´t turn the engine on. the light will go off after a second or so. If the change oil light comes on, then a person needs to change their oil. If a person changes their oil the light should turn off.
After you do the oil change, turn the key to the on position and it should reset after a few seconds
Turn the key to on, do not start, push the gas pedal to the floor three times, the light should flash on the dash indicating the reset. Turn the key off. You should be reset.

Turn off key, then turn back on and start vehicle, light should be off and reset, if not repeat the steps above.
With engine off. Turn key to on. Press accelerator fully three times. This should reset light.
Change the oil........then turn the key to the on position, with car off pump gas pedal 3 times within 5 seconds. This should reset light
Take it to the dealer and get it reset.
Your owners manual will explain how to reset that function.
Turn the ignition key partially change display to "Trip A" and turn ignition OFF. Press the trip reset button and then turn the ignition key partially. Do not start engine. Hold reset button down until light goes off.
