The ABS light is on because there is a problem with the ABS system. Once the problem is fixed the light will reset itself after a short drive. Your local auto parts store can retrieve the code(s) set in the ABS module to help direct you to the fault.

If nothing is holding the pedal down then the brake light switch is at fault.
It could be low on brake fluid, a sign of trouble. Have the brakes checked SOON!

Check the brake light switch.
Check the fuse, check the bulbs and check the brake light switch, it should be one of those.
Remove the wiring harness from the high mount brake light. Remove the retaining screws. Reverse the process to install the new high mount brake light.
The antilock brake system has a problem. The light will remain until it is fixed. The abs will not function when light is on. Take it to your mechanic soon.
The 2001 Chevy Blazer brake lights may not work and the third bake stays on because the current light needs to be replaced. A replacement brake light can be purchased at an Auto Parts store like Pep Boys.
