Leave the radio and ignition switched on for a period of time (which could be several hours). I've just had a quick look on the internet and its 10 hours 40 minutes and you have only 1 go left to put in the correct code number.

i believe you can but just make sure the radio is the same model and the one your taking out
the radio code is on the back of the radio. take the radio out and you can see it.
The clock on the radio can be set by two buttons found to the right on the display screen. H for hour and M for minute.
Press the FM2 and RDS buttons together (one on top of the other) until 1000 appears on the radio screen. Let go. using the 1-6 buttons on the left, press the 1 button repeadtedly until you get your code's first digit on the screen, the 2 until the second digit, 3 until the 3rd, 4 until the 4th. Press FM2 and RDS together until SAFE comes on the screen. Let go. Radio resets itself.
The radio amp on a 99 VW Jetta is located under the driver side dash. It is in the fuse number 42 slot.
For the clock: Turn the radio on Push and hold in the clock button And push the seek button (left) for hours And push the seek button (right) for minutes There is no AM or PM For the radio: Find a radio station on the radio Push one of the selector buttons on the radio and hold it down for about 10 seconds and release Thats all it takes You should have 5 buttons for AM And 5 buttons for FM-1 And 5 buttons for FM-2

There are two buttons on the right on the screen of the radio H & M. You'll need something skinny to press them there like reset buttons where you need a thin screwdriver lol but just push H for hour and push M for minute!
