as far as I know you have to have the dealership do it cause they have to read the codes in the computer to set the remote
Try the mirror control.
Look to the right of the steering column under the dash. I think the remote keyless entry is here & not sure if it's different from keyless entry.I'm not exactly sure if the computer that controls the keyless entry is what they're looking for - OR - the location of the factory set code for that vehicle.See "Related Questions" below for the location of the code
1. Turn ignition to RUN or ACC. 2. Momentarily jump pins in programming connector located in LR quarter panel area (Connector will not be plugged into anything, it will have two pins inside it, if you have to unlug it you have the WRONG one. Not all vehicles are set up from factory for keyless remotes) All doors will lock then unlock to confirm programming mode. 3. Press any button on first keyless remote. Door locks will cycle to confirm programming. 4. If programming a second keyless remote, press any button on second keyless remote. Door locks will cycle to confirm programming. 5. Turn ignition to OFF. Locks will again cycle to indicate end of programming mode.

Stand outside your car holding the remote up against the Driver side window. Hold the Lock and Unlock buttom simultaneously on your remote while pointing your remote at the steering wheel. After about 30 sec. you will hear your horn beep. Your remote has been re-set and should now work.
hold down the lock and unlock buttons down at the same time for about 8 seconds on the remote. this should re-set the code.

Figure out your engine type, then ask how to set timing on a 1988 corvette ***** engine. That should help you a great deal.
To set the clock on a 1989 Corvette the radio must be turned off. After turning the radio off hit the set button and then hit scan. The time can be set using the arrow buttons.
