If the battery is three years old or older, your Jeep won't start and nothing happens at all when you turn the key then more than likely you have a bad battery. Almost any place that you can buy a new battery from will be happy to test it for you and some places will check your charging system for you for a very nominal fee.
If you're hardheaded like I am and have a battery charger you can try putting a a charge to it for several hours just in case its become drained for some reason (interior lights left on overnight for example) and it also could be just a loose connection at the battery terminals.
But, if you try charging it for several hours and you jiggle the battery cables at the battery and they seem tight and the battery is still dead, go get a new one.

This is often from a dead battery.
If you can not unlock them with a key, you will have to call a locksmith.
This usually means that you have a dead battery. Either from a bad battery, or a bad alternator.
If the clock keeps resetting in a 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, the problem is probably with the battery. It is quite possible that the battery is going dead after the vehicle is parked, leaving just enough life in it to restart the car. It can also be an alternator problem causing the battery to be drained.
Diagnostic Code 12 on a 1995 Grand Cherokee just means that your battery has been dead or disconnected within the last 50 ignition cycles.
battery is dead, alternator is blown, needs new distributor, blown engine, head gasket is out, could be a number of things, take it in to a mechanic
starter, solonoid, ignition, battery. if it clicks when you turn the key then the battery is really dead or its the starter the battery could still be jumped if its the battery.
dead or recently dead battery and or a bad baterry terminal, either way, ive only seen it with electric power problems
If the key will not work in the door or the liftgate, you will need to call a locksmith or break a window.
Idle may have to be relearned. Did it recently go dead or did you change battery?
