There should be a unit that looks almost like a turn signal flasher down by the fuse box (left of steering column) that controls the "chimes" unplug to remove
It is normal if other lights come on at the same time. All of the reminder/warning lights should come on when ignition is in idle (key's in ignition, but the car is not running)
By "OFF," I have to assume that your question means that the ignition switch is "ON", but the engine is not running. IF that is what your question means, then the reason the engine warning lights turning on is that the manufacturer designed the system that way to show you that those warning circuits and lights are working, and ready to warn you after you start the engine, should there be a failure in one of the systems they represent.
Usually vehicle just stops running with no warning
Its not your engine. Its the fan running to cool the engine down. They all do it and nothing is wrong with your car.
Engine coolant temp running 220 degree F
It sounds like your dizzy cap isn't lined right which causes the engine to stay running after the ignition has been switched off. i had the same problem with my fiesta
If the check engine light is flashing when the engine is running , that indicates that an ignition misfire has been detected
Sounds like the engine heats and the ignition fails.
subaru legacy engine is switched off when stop after drive
Sounds like you are loesing the live for the radio when the engine is running cheak the ignition barrel is ok Just an idea Oliver
That light is a warning light for the battery charging circuit. In order for you to know that the light is not burned out, your vehicle manufacturer installed a test circuit which turns the light on when the ignition switch is turned on when the engine is not running, and turns it off when the vehicle starts and the engine is running, and the alternator is creating more electricity than the vehicle's circuits is using. If there should be a failure of the alternator, or it's circuit, or the output is below the current being used by the vehicles circuits, then the red warning light should come on. If there is adequate electrical output from the alternator it should stay off, EXCEPT for the bulb/circuit "proof test" when the ignition key is turned on while the engine is NOT running.j3h.
subaru turbos do that to
