The people of South Africa were negatively affected. Their country was basically invaded and stripped of all its natural resources. The British and Dutch were the European influences on South Africa.
Basically their economic, political and social systems were all dependent on European countries and then Europe left them high and dry.... now the African countries are still relying on the countries that had took them over before, so even though they aren't under their rule, they still rely on them at least for their economic systems.
