If you are referring to the Iraq War, I think most Americas regret the conquest, but the justifications are that there was some fairly solid evidence which turned out not to be entirely true that Sadaam had "weapons of mass destruction" and biological weapons which his past history indicated that he would use. The other justification is the intent was to get the conquering forces out of the country as soon as possible once Sadaam had been removed as a threat.
Aside from that. Americans has not tried to conquer people except maybe 300 years ago when Europeans ancestors of some Americans came to America and pushed the natives aside, and this was really not a conquest of people but rather a conquest of land of which there was really more than enough with proper land use for everybody. Land ownership has always been an object of dispute. Why does one man own a piece of land and another have to do without? Nobody made the land- who really has a right to it?
If you mean the Mexican War, again no Amercan wanted to conquer the Mexican
people . The land that was annexed was already populated by Americans. Even though the Americans could have occupied all of Mexico, they quickly left the country and let the Mexican people alone.
If you are talking about slavery - few Americans try to justify that. However slaves were not brought to American by Americans. Foreign slave traders offered them for sale and Americans bought them, but this is not really conquest, I do not think. In any case many Americans gave their lives to end the practice and the descendants of the slaves enjoy a better life than many of their brethren in Africa, I think.
No. there is no justification to killing that many innocent people in a war.
Because the southwest originally was part of Mexico. By conquering such territories, many of these people were swiftly sacked from their lands.
to win freedom from great britain
It was unjustified for Americans to be suspicious of the Japanses just as it is unjustified for the Muslim people to dislike Jew and Christians and to think we are out to destory the moral fiber of the world.
The French, British and Americans had different notions of the peace terms. So none were entirely justified. So really none then.

100%

I think that it was justified because the Americans thought that it would be a quick and easy way to end the war. I also think that it was not justified because the Americans were not thinking about their actions or the people/children that would not die and just sufer for something that they might not of done.
They believed this was a form of exploration and bringing civilisation to uncharted and ungoverned lands with no apparent organisation.

Any country is justified when helping starving people or people in need of medical assistance.
no it was screwed up if you ask me :)

Because they were in Spain at the time, so they just got stronger as a country:)
Had no natural protection from diseases brought by Europeans.
