I saw a National Geographic documentary on television.. ( channel NATGE..#551..STAR CHOICE TV.. December 2008..Topic..World's Most deadly Animals..India), that says approximately 200,000 people are bitten by snakes yearly in India. Of those, just over 50,000 die: EVERY YEAR!! That is just under 140 deaths PER DAY!!*#*( see caption below. 4th paragraph )
To me, this is very alarming. And this does not include any of the other deaths from larger snakes, example, Python, that strangle and swallow their victims whole. Think of an Indian woman washing her clothes close to a river bank and a snake "pull" her down and shes gone. The villagers knows shes mssing. They put it down to one of several things; Death by crocodile, alligator, large snake, or Bengal tiger.
In India, poisonous snakes follow the rodent population on which they feed. This cause them to come in very close contact with humans when the rodents LIVE among people.
I've heard some so-called experts( not from National Geographic) say that this *#* is just part of nature's way of "controlling the population". That is extremely preposterous!! 140 people being killed every day in ONE country!! All in the name of POPULATION CONTROL!!!? Can I get an "Oh My GOd"!!, to all you so- called experts!! What about the other extimated ( exact number unknown), 175 people that die daily in India from scorpion bites!!? ( Mostly Red scorpion). Should we put those 64,000 deaths per year, in India, down to POPULATION CONTROL also!!? We need better answers, I think. You be the judge.
I hope that helps. Graaaphicdessigner@Yahoo.ca
Acually, if that bothers you, go ahead and look up malaria statistics for Africa, that's much much worse.

there was many ways to treat snake bites one thing is you would suck all the poison out but that coukd get you killed\\o
If you mean bites by venomous snakes, in the United States there are 7000-8000 bites per year on average with about 5 fatalities. Many other countries do not have such statistics because many of the bitten people die without medical attention and their deaths not recorded.
This is an unknown factor because many venomous bites are not reported and almost all nonvenomous bites (unless by large constrictors) go unreported as well.about maybe 500 people get bitten by a snake each...........and only 12 out of 500 die
about 200 people die from adder bites each year in the uk
its not but many people call them bug bites so they may not like it
In India a snake layed 200 eggs in one month.I think that's a record!
he has a Prince Albert 2 nipple rings snake bites Gauges I believe his tounge He has alot on his ears lol
About 30% of people who sustain the tick bites actually acquire the Lyme disease.
