Hi There,
We have a 2000 crown vic and literally just had to get a new fuel pump last week. Where I live (Southwestern Ontario, Canada) my total bill for a new fuel pump, a new strainer which they said they needed and labour came to $696 (that's with tax and with the "lesser" expensive fuel pump). This came from $86/hr shop rate, $250 for the fuel pump, not sure how much for the strainer off hand, a $58 "diagnosis"charge to identify the problem.
Hope that helps.
The electric fuel pump is INSIDE the fuel tank

The fuel pump on a 2001 Ford Crown Victoria is located in the fuel tank. It pumps fuel directly from within the tank for maximum efficiency.
In the fuel tank.
the fuel pump on the crown Victoria is located in the gas tank and if replacing it you have to remove the tank to get to it...Dennis Sison
