From the muffler back (aka CAT-BACK), kits can be purchased for as little as $130 (non-performance parts). Including the CAT (catalytic converter), you're looking at closer to $250. That's just for parts (and if you order from an online store like www.quadratec.com or www.4wd.com [Jeep specific stores] figure $40 additional for shipping)and for you to provide labor. If you have a mechanic do it, I'd estimate no more than 2 hours (and that's generous)of labor at whatever the current rate is (a call to a local garage will tell you hourly labor rate). Hope this helps. I just replaced the exhaust on my 98 wrangler, cost $175.00 for parts, found free shipping, and took me 1hr 30 min to do it myself. I am learning as I do it, so I am no expert.
