That all depends on the size of the filter. It should say how many pounds of sand you need on the side of your sand filter.

Any Hayward filter that requires 150 lbs of sand or more will be more than sufficient.

up to six feet with a dish style bottom on round above ground pools.

I have a above ground pool from wal-mart 15 foot round 4 foot deep metal frame. How many hours a day should I run the filter pump? Also can I buy a more powerfull pump that want tear the pool up?

I haven't had an above ground pool for a while. Things might have changed. I recommend going with a filter that is rated higher than your needs. We actually used a lower-end model inground pool filter, because the stock one wouldn't keep the water clear.

Answer is noYou can remove a round one and install an oval after, of course, you make necessary adjustments to the ground--making the ground level in an oval instead of a circle. The only things you might be able to re-use from the round pool are the pump/filter, ladder, skimmer and return fittings, and your cleaning equipment. Round pools are built quite differently and are not meant to turned into ovals. Theyndon't have the supports required, whether that be braces or straps. So, basically the answer is 'no'.

I used a sand base for our 20' round above ground pool. It's much easier to deal with after the pool is gone. Greener too.

I think you should go for a cartridge filter (Pentair 320 sq ft - we can supply for $600 incl frt). Cartridge filters are much better than they used to be, and are far, far more coinvenient than sand. Suitable sand filter would be approx 100 sq ft (and same cost as 320 sq ft cartridge).

Always run the pump in filter, for atleast 4 to 5 hrs a day , never run the pump in anything else but filter , only time you change filter setting is when you back wash you filter, also when you ope your pool and shock it for the 1st time run the filter over night then back wash next day

Due to the differences in engineering and the parts involved, there really is no way to convert an oval above ground pool into a round pool.

try the following site there is a silica filter there with the number 0-1740-xxx it may be the one you re looking for http://doughboy-parts.com

No , above ground pools are different in that you can drain them , the reason you cannot drain an in ground pool is because the pool is built to have water pressure , and it is very stressful on the walls , I hope this answered your question :) .

i have an estherr Williams pool 1988 still in good shape with everything new liner new carpet and cover how much can i get for it 27 round with all filter and chemicals linda thanks

It really depends on the type of filter and pump arrangement you have. Generally, a hose would connect from the skimmer of the pool ( the round box on the pool wall - most pools) to the suction side of the pump (the virtical part with the basket inside)(the one with the motor attached); then, from the outlet or discharge side (usually just above the motor) to the filter inlet. From the filter outlet back to the pool return wall fitting or eyeball. k

How much water in a 48inch 12foot round pool

Ground round was a term used years ago referring to the leanest ground beef. The hind leg in beef is called the round (Top round, bottom round, eye of round and sirloin tip). Today if you were to read a recipe asking for ground round it does not mean you actually have a butcher ground a round roast, it just means that you need 4%-7% fat ground beef. Likewise ground sirloin would be 10%-15% fat and ground chuck would be 20% fat.

24' x 4' round above ground holds 14,000 gallons

24 foot round pool would be 24 feet across from the middle of the pool basically measure the diameter of the pool.

A round pool that is 16 feet across and is filled with 48 inches of water will contain about 6,041 gallons of water.
